Monkiri Asanoha Unisex - Hand-Cut Washi Dial Wristwatch
Description
Monkiri, Asanoha
A pattern hand-cut from washi paper, over silver leaf. Handmade in Kanazawa.
Monkiri is the Japanese art of cutting family crests and patterns from paper. For this dial, washi paper soaked in white pigment is cut by hand into the asanoha pattern, then laid over a ground of silver leaf and thin washi. Tilt the watch and the silver beneath catches the light, and the pattern rises from the surface.
Asanoha, the hemp leaf, is a star-like geometric pattern. Hemp grows tall and straight, so the pattern has long been a wish for health and protection from harm. The hour markers are small dots of leaf.
Every watch is made to order, one at a time.

Care
Avoid submerging your watch in water, and keep it away from strong magnets and extreme heat. Wipe the case and strap gently with a soft, dry cloth. Leather straps soften and change color naturally with wear. For battery replacement or repairs, contact us at info@kasanestore.com.
